  2. 1. GET STARTED! 1. Enter room quietly. If you have anything with you (backpack, book) put it on your desk. 2. Line up by iPad station. Mrs. Mulcahy will give you your iPad. Be sure it has your assigned number.

  3. 2. Return to your seat and start. ~~Go back to your seat. ~~If necessary (I’ll let you know), create your email account. ~~Begin bellringer.

  4. 3. DISCUSS AND CORRECT DOL. ~~Pay attention and make accurate corrections. ~~To get class work credit, you must finish before time is up and correct sentences accurately.

  5. 3. COPY LEARNING TARGET • ~~Be sure that you understand what you need to do to reach your learning target. Ask questions if you don’t!

  6. 5. REACH THE LEARNING TARGET GOAL. ~~Listen to instructions. ~~Ask questions to clarify and validate. ~~Use Discovery skills to be successful in class. ~~Complete all work to the best of your ability. ~~ Ask questions to clarify and validate.

  7. 6. WRAP IT UP! ~~At my signal, turn back to the LT for the day. Complete the LT check and analyze your understanding. ~~Submit your work: marylou.mulcahy@jessamine.kyschools.us ~~Be sure to use the correct heading in the subject line.

  8. WRAP IT UP (cont.) • Return your iPad to me. • After you give me your iPad, return to your seat. If we have read aloud, listen quietly.

  9. iPad Specifics • Touch the screen with your fingers. • Clean only with the cleaning cloth. • Hold firmly while carrying. • Carry with case closed. • Keep all four desk legs on the floor at all times. • When you hear me say, “Flip Your Screen,” flip your iPad screen for me to see your work. • Gum, candy and drinks are hazardous to the health of your iPad! • I will give a 5-4-3-2-1 count down after I say, “Close covers.” You will receive a redirect if you do not follow directions.

  10. WHAT IF-- --I’m late to class? Bring a note explaining why you are late. --I have to go to the bathroom? Try to wait until bathroom break. If you can’t, please signal for bathroom by pointing to the door. You do not haveto inform the class about your big event. I’ll try to find someone to take you, but you may have to be patient. --I need a drink of water? If you need a drink, point to the water fountain in the room. If I nod, go ahead. If I shake my head, wait until I nod.

WHAT IF (CONT.) • What if I am absent and need to make up work? • According to the school policy, “the number of days allowed to complete make-up work will be equal to the number of school days the student was absent plus one additional day.” • I will work with you at Wrap-up (when possible) to help you make up your work. You may have to complete it at home.

  12. What if (still cont.)-- --I finish my work early? Check your work to be sure that it is complete and of high quality. Then choose a wait-time activity.

  13. THE READING CORNER You will use the reading corner for these purposes: *silent reading during literacy class *some small group discussions *cool-down I will tell you when to sit in the reading corner. Please sit in your regular seat all other times.

  14. 6. GOOD-BYE! ~~Be sure that you have not left any trash behind. ~~Leave quietly and respectfully. ~~Congratulate yourself on a good job.
