  2. Primary Care Access and Stabilization Grant: • – implemented September 21, 2007 • $100 million federal grant program • Funding for 25 public and nonprofit organizations providing primary care and mental health care • Money awarded every six months based on case/payer mix from previous period

  3. PCASG- Results: • Allowed expansion of community-based clinics: • 67  93 • Increased patients served • See more than 175,000 patients in greater NOLA area • Number of individuals served increasing by 13% / annum • 14/25 are now NCQA designated “Patient Centered Medical Homes”

  4. PCASG: Who does it cover? • Uninsured for at least six months AND: • 19-64 years old • Not pregnant • Not eligible for Medicaid or CHIP • Family (of 4) income not > 200% FPL or $44,100 • Doesn’t include undocumented residents

  5. This funding was set to expire September 30, 2010 Last week, the US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) approved Louisiana’s Medicaid Waiver proposal the “Greater New Orleans Community Health Connection” Expands the program to December 31, 2013 $97.5 million over 3 years
