Make ‘x’ the subject. Re-arrranging equations. It’s all about opposites. ‘Inverses’ as we like to call them. If you make something the subject then…. It will be on the left hand side of the equation and ‘equal to’ something. Take ‘u’ from each side v – u = at. Then divide by ‘t’

  3. If you make something the subject then…. It will be on the left hand side of the equation and ‘equal to’ something

  4. Take ‘u’ from each side v – u = at Then divide by ‘t’ v – u = a t Make ‘a’ the subject of v = u + at

  5. But it isn’t ‘a = ….’ So flip it

  6. v – u = a t ‘flipped’ gives us a = v – u t

  7. Take away u2 v2 -u2 = 2ax Divide by ‘2a’ v2 -u2= x 2a Make ‘x’ the subject ofv2 = u2 +2ax

  8. Flip it! x = v2 -u2 2a
