  1. Meat Grinder D D D D D D D D D D C C C C C D D D D D G G G G G Stage One- Separate the team into groups of 4 or 5 by size, not position or ability. Each line has one coach. Each line is separated by 10 yards. Each player in each line is separated by 3 yards. G has a football is is facing the defenders (D). He is the Grinder with each D facing him. Each line is run independently by a coach. At the coaches command “ Ready Positions!” the G and the first D respond “Hit !” and the coach then responds “Hit !”. The G attacks the first D while the coach spies form. The D does not take the G to the ground. Quick hit and wrap then reset for the next rep but you want big close quarters hits. Then the first D moves ahead and turns around facing the drill waiting to become the next G. Then the rep is repeated until the G is at the end of the line and then becomes the last D. Then the drill repeats down the grinder with a new G. Fast reps all run independently by one coach. Football RB RB RB RB RB OL OL OL OL OL HC C C C C C DL DL DL DL DL LB LB LB LB LB Stage Two- Separate the team into two groups by positions. Linemen play OL /DL and pretty boys play RB /LB. Each group has one coach. Each line is separated by 10 yards. Each player in each line is separated by 1 yard. RB has a football and is facing the DL and LB. He has one OL blocking for him. Each line is run independently by a coach but the Head Coach sets the pace. Any players left over are with the HC. At the HC’s command “ Ready Positions!” the entire team responds “Hit !” and the HC then responds “Hit !”. The RB attacks the D while the C spies form for all. The D now takes the RB to the ground. RB must run at the D. Quick hit to the ground then reset for the next rep but you want big close quarters hits. The HC then yells out “Reload !” and then every player moves one spot to the left. RB’s keep the football with them down their line. When at the end of the RB line give the FB to the HC. When at the end of the LB line receive the football from the HC ( a 50 yard pass so if little guys… throw it to station 1 coach).
