THE COURSE SELECTION PROCESS • Talk with teachers, parents, and counselors • Get the necessary information about: Graduation Requirements Endorsements, GPA, Career Concentrations, TOPS, 4-YR College Requirements, Junior College Requirements, Technical School, Military, Special Internships and Certification Programs at Salmen High. • Use the Salmen High Guidance Website and LaEPortal for updated information! Sign up for e-mail updates and visit the sites often!

  3. Two Paths to a Louisiana Diploma • LA Core 4 Curriculum Entrance requirements for college or university Required for 9th and 10th graders • Basic Core Curriculum Focus on Area of Concentration Entrance requirements for technical college

TOPS TECH AWARD • To Promote Skilled Workforce • Pays tuition for up to two years for programs at Technical, Junior Colleges: • Air Conditioning and Refrigeration; Automotive Tech; Carpentry; Computer Networking; Construction; Culinary Arts; Diesel Mechanics; Drafting and Design Technology; Early Childhood Education; Industrial Machine Shop; Practical Nursing; Welding

  13. What's Next? You will receive all your scheduling materials, course guide, schedule card, and Transcript in 5th period today. Your teachers will instruct you on how to complete your schedule requests. You MUST turn back this card and your 5- Year Career Plan, signed by parent or guardian, and required teachers by Friday. If You don’t- your electives will be chosen for you! Ugh! No unnecessary changes will be made after the school year begins!
