  1. 2008 Air Race Classic“Top 10” Drawing • As scheduled, on February 9, 2008, the drawing for the first 10 race numbers was held at the Vernon Conly Air Service Hanger at LaBelle Municipal Airport (X14). • All racers whose applications were postmarked on or before January 31st and who were received were in the hunt for the low numbers. • In all, 16 race teams were in the drawing and we had 3 other teams purchase numbers after Classic 10.

  2. 2008 ARC “Top 10” Coffee was served along with Half Moons provided courtesy of Holland Farms Bakery. Thank you HOLLAND FARMS!

  3. 2008 ARC “Top 10” We had planes flying in from every direction in spite of the early morning fog which dissipated just in time for the drawing. With light winds, it was a perfect day to fly.

  4. 2008 ARC “Top 10” Everything was set: All qualified team names were written on ping-pong balls and placed in a double bag.

  5. 2008 ARC “Top 10” Jessica Stearns, Paradise Coast 99s Chapter Chair and past ARC racer, was the official number drawer whiles racers Tamra Sheffman and Jo Alcorn and others stood by and witnessed the event.

  6. 2008 ARC “Top 10” The drawing continued until all 16 race teams were drawn and placed back in the carton in race number order.
