  2. Lithosphere • Plate tectonics, volcanism, earthquakes, continental drift. • The lithosphere is the solid, rocky crust covering the Earth. • It covers the surface of earth from the top of Mount Everest to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. • The lithosphere is divided into a lot of crustal plates that is what a plate tectonic is. • The phenomena connected with volcanoes and volcanic activity is what volcanism is. • A series of movement in the Earth’s crust is an earthquake. • The lateral movement of continents resulting from the motion of crustal plates is the continental drift www.assignmentpoint.com

  3. Hydrosphere • The water cycle, what the hydrosphere consist of ( rivers, aquifers, and precipitation) • The hydrosphere is composed of all water on or close to the earth. • This includes the oceans, rivers, lakes, and even the moisture in the air. • Ninety – seven percent of the Earth’s water is in the oceans. The hydrosphere is often called the “water sphere” • Water is found in vapor, liquid, and solid states in the atmosphere. www.assignmentpoint.com

  4. Atmosphere • Relationships between pressure and height, layers of the atmosphere, function of the atmosphere. • The atmosphere of Earth is a layer of gases covering the core. • The atmosphere protects live on earth without an atmosphere there would be no live on Earth. • The atmosphere is a mixture of nitrogen, oxygen, and other gases. • The atmosphere blocks some of the sun’s dangerous rays. www.assignmentpoint.com

  5. The layer’s of the atmosphere www.assignmentpoint.com

  6. Biosphere • The part of the Earth’scrust, waters, and atmosphere that supports life. • It includes between 3 and 30 million kinds of plants, animals, and fungi. • The biosphere extends over the Earth’s surface in a thin layer. • The biosphere is a life supporting global system. • The ecosystem is all living things on Earth www.assignmentpoint.com

  7. The Interaction • Water in the oceans today evaporates into the atmosphere tomorrow • and falls as rain and creates puddles and lakes for all the animals to drink www.assignmentpoint.com

  8. More facts on interaction of spheres • Pollution-theintroduction of harmful substances or products into the environment. • Erosion-the process by which the surface of the earth is worn away by the action of water. • Flooding- when to much water is located in one place www.assignmentpoint.com
