Ways to help your child learn • Ask your child about their day; • Ask about homework; • Have a place and time set aside where your child can do his/her homework; • Read to or with your child every night; • Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep; • Breakfast is important to a successful day HES serves breakfast every day.

  11. Ways to contact your child’s teacher • Each teacher has their own email account. Go to our website under HES to find the address; • Call and set up a conference; • Attend Teacher/Parent Conferences; • Attend Parent Nights; • Notes sent with your child.

How to have a successful school year • Talk to your child about school; • Keep the school informed of: • illness, address changes, phone number changes, • issues your child is having academically or behaviorally before they become an issue; • Read with your child daily; • Embrace learning and seeing your child grow
