SESSION OVERVIEW The sense of Congress, as it applies to the TAA program; “ the Secretaries of Labor, Commerce, and Agriculture should apply the provisions of with the utmost regard for the interests of workers, firms, communities, and farmers petitioning for benefits”. Comparing the Act of 2002 to 2009.

  3. HIGHLIGHTS AND OVERVIEW • This Amendment revamps the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program and reauthorizes it through 12/31/2010. • Expands coverage to service sector workers and public agencies. • Expands training options including deadlines to enroll. • Expands the Trade Readjustment Allowance (TRA) (cash assistance) as well as affords the trade participant additional options. • Doubles the training funds from $220M to $575M.
