  2. Brief Description • Hair Transplant is a surgical technique, for hair restoration and prevention of hair loss • In this hair follicles moves from donor site to recipient site. • Donor Site- Part of the body from where hair follicles are taken. • Recipient Site- Balding part of the body. • Hair Transplant can be done for both male and female (especially for males). http://must4care.com/

  3. Candidate for Hair Transplant Good Candidates for hair transplant • Men with male-pattern baldness • women with thinning hair • Patients who has lost some hair from a burn or scalp injury Hair replacement isn’t a good option for: • Women with a wide-spread pattern of hair loss throughout the scalp • People who don’t have enough “donor” hair sites from which to remove hair for transplant. • People who form keloid scars (thick, fibrous scars) after injury or surgery. • People whose hair loss is due to medication like chemotherapy. http://must4care.com/

General Procedure of Hair Transplant Step1:- Donor Area is trimmed Step2:- Donor Tissue is removed The donor tissue containing the bald resistant hair follicles is then surgically removed. • Prior to surgery, the hair in donor area that will be surgically removed is trimmed. http://must4care.com/

  8. General Procedure of Hair Transplant STEP 3:-Donor Area is Sutured STEP 4:-Hair Combed Over Sutures When patient’s hair is combed over the donor area the sutures are not visible. • The donor tissue containing the bald resistant hair follicles is then surgically removed. http://must4care.com/

  9. General Procedure of Hair Transplant STEP 5:-Donor Tissue is Trimmed into Follicular Unit Grafts STEP 6:- Incisions are Made in the Balding Areas Tiny incisions are made in the recipient areas in irregular patterns that mimic nature. The follicular unit grafts will then be placed carefully into these tiny incisions. • Surgical technicians then use microscopes to view the donor tissue in order to dissect and prepare follicular units hair grafts. http://must4care.com/

  10. General Procedure of Hair Transplant STEP 7:- Grafts are Placed into the Incisions STEP 8:- Patient Immediately after Hair Transplant After having hair transplant surgery, a patient will have hundreds of tiny incisions with short hair stubble showing from the new grafts. • Follicular unit grafts are gently placed into the recipient incisions. http://must4care.com/

  11. Limitations of Hair Transplant • Limited amount of hairs genetically resistant to hair loss in the donor area. • Particular to follicular unit extraction (FUE) surgery, donor hairs can be taken • Large bald areas that patients desire to have covered cannot be transplanted • Insufficient density of transplanted hair • The need for repeat hair transplants due to continued hair loss • Hair transplant does not stop hair thinning. http://must4care.com/
