• Ordinal numbers

• In both English and Spanish, ordinal numbers indicate position in a series or order of items.

• When used with a noun, an ordinal number must agree in number.

• primero/a sexto/a

• segundo/a séptimo/a

• tercero/a octavo/a

• cuarto/a noveno/a

• quinto/a décimo

• Ordinal numbers are placed before nouns.

Ex. Es la primerapelículade Tom Cruise.

Nuestroapartamentoestá en el octavopiso.

***Primero and tercero drop the o before a masculine singular noun.

Eneroes el primermes del año.

• She lives on the second floor.

• He is the fifth person that wears a red shirt.
