  1. JTLS in Turkey

  2. Introduction to Atatürk Wargaming and Convention Center Transformation of JDDETC into MJWC What We Have Done National & InternationalExercises Activities Projects What We Plan To Do Briefing Outline

  3. Atatürk Wargaming and Convention Center (AWCC) • The construction work was started in June of 1999. Opening date of the Center is25 July 2003.

  4. Mission • To host both national and international command post and computer assisted exercises as well as cultural and academic activities. • To lead combat model development efforts in Turkish Armed Forces. • To build, operate, and maintain information systems in War Colleges Command. • To support training and education activities in War Colleges Command.

  5. 2nd Wargaming Floor Exercise Control Floor 1st Wargaming Floor Ground Floor Basement Floor Atatürk Wargaming and Convention Center (AWCC) • Comprised of 6 floors and 3 main blocks. - Wargaming block, - Cultural block, - Top level meeting block. • Have facilities for cultural and academic activities.

  6. Wargaming Block On each wargaming floor : • 4 wargaming halls with different capacities (total capacity for 12 wargaming halls is 1500 people), • Modular furniture, • More than 800 fiber optic network outlets,

  7. Transformation of JDDETC into MJWC * The Joint Doctrine Development, Experimentation and Training Centre Command, which is established in August 2008 and located in Ataturk Wargaming and Convention Centre (AWCC), transformed into Multinational Joint Warfare Centre (MJWC) Command in March 2015.

  8. Motivation * Act as the Exercise Control Centre (EXCON) for strategic/operative level national, multinational and NATO exercises, * Develop joint doctrines, * Conduct concept/doctrine experimentations and * Contribute to the NATO concept experimentation process.

  9. Capabilities • * MJWC will also acquire the following capabilities along with the transformation process: • - Planning, controlling and managing strategic/operative level national/multinational/NATO wargames and exercises, • - For Computer Assisted Exercises; • Providing education support, • Developing scenarios and MEL/MIL scripts, • Providing media simulation support, • - Providing support for NATO concept experimentation processes.

  10. What We Have Done National & International Exercises (2014-2015) YILDIZWargame 1999-2015(Annual, using JTLS), ZAFER Command Post Exercise (CPX) 2004-2014 (Corps Level, Every 2 years , using JTLS), CPX of Army College 2008-2015 (Annual, using JCATS), Planning Seminars 2002-2015 (Annual), NATO CAX Forum in AWCC (September 2014), Balkan Regional Exercise in AWCC (October 2014).

  11. Activities NATO Working Groups MSG-124 Actionable Data Farming Decision Support for NATO. Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS) used for joint concept and doctrine experimentation and tactical level exercises. What We Have Done

  12. Projects TATYONSIS (Exercise Management System) Developed by our Modeling Simulation And CAX Support Branch to replace JEMM. User-friendly GUI. Simplified database structure. Compatible with our national MEL/MIL templates. What We Have Done

  13. Projects TATYONSIS (Exercise Management System) What We Have Done

  14. Projects ANTES (Engagement and Detection Query Program) Developed on PHP. More detailed reports by querying After Action Review tables about: Detection Engagement Specific report templates and filtering options according to user requirements. What We Have Done

  15. Projects ANTES (Engagement and Detection Query Program) What We Have Done

  16. Keep working on JTLS-CCIS (Command Control And Information Systems) integration, Keep on improving TATYONSIS and ANTES according to exercise feedbacks, Upgrade to JTLS version 5.x Continue participating MSG task group meetings, To host Federated Mission Network (October 2015). What We Plan to Do

  17. JTLS Order of Battle Editor (JOBE), JOBE Interface Navigator (JINN) During the Database Preparation, we separate the existinc database into several parts by means of JINN. We deliver these packets to exercise conductor site. They prepare their partial database by using JOBE. They copy existinc units to create new units. At this step JOBE users don’t get any copy error or failure message. They save newly created and copied units in JOBE, and return the packets to us. When we are merging the JOBE packets to the main database using JINN, we get copy failure message (due to unit-name, unit-coordinate etc.). This situation causes us to repeat the steps from the beginning. Our demand is that: If there is any error during unit copying process in JOBE, JOBE itself should warn the user about the error instead of giving error during the merging database by JINN. So that JOBE user can see the error early and correct them at the preparation steps. Proposals

  18. * JTLS users can easily access online player manual (OPM) pages for other Force Sides by opening an OPM and navigating to an enemy side. A password system is required for security. * Syber-War can not be modeled in JTLS. Sometimes we need to play syber-attack to communication systems or missile-guiding systems. Proposals
