The Parking Occupancy Monitoring system detects when a car in or out from a parking lot in order to record their capacity and alert drivers if they are full. In the below, we discuss the types and their components.

  2. The types of parking management systems are: 1. PARC – Parking Access and Revenue Control System 2. AVI- Automatic Vehicle Identification System PARC The Parking and Revenue Control System is a typical system of electrical and electronic components and equipment. The parking occupancy monitoring system control components are: 1. Barriers: It is electromechanical equipment that barricades the access to the driver to get into the facility. 2. Alarms: It alerts when the system has a potential problem with the equipment.

  3. 3. Entry Station: An entry station must be installed for collecting the payments, inspection of the vehicle, and detecting permission to access. 4. Automated Pay Station: it generates the Parking ticket and collects the parking charge to the driver automatically with a center cashiering facility. 5. Car Park Management: This system identifies the parking space and gives directions to the driver for parking the vehicle. 6. Lane Controller: The electronic hardware that controls the activity on the lane, sending and receiving data from a central database. 7. Counting System: It counts and tracks the number of vehicles with sensors. 8. Loops: Sensors are placed in the ground that detects the vehicle passing and track occupancy of the vehicle. 9. Monitoring System: Monitoring system that allows a user to see system- generated activity. 10. Ticket Validator: Electronically encodes validations onto tickets. 11. Magnetic Stripe Reader: Reads magnetic stripes and converts information to data for use by a computer. 12. ticket validator, used for updating a parking ticket with new information. Encoding Station: A computer with encoding software connected to a 13. Exit Verifier: Hardware for verification of payment and raising the gate. 14. Facility Management System: Software that provides real-time reporting, monitoring and controlling of PARCS Automated Vehicle Identification Automatic Vehicle Identification is a self-governing system that’s used for moving objects such as a vehicle. It identifies the vehicle in a parking facility allowing permission to enter and exit with the following system.

  4. 1. RFID – Radio Frequency Identification 2. ANPR – Automatic Number Plate Reader 3. LPI – License Plate Inventory These Parking and Revenue Control system are key to ushering in an era of truly smart and efficient parking.
