  3. Challenges • What to Teach (Content) • How best to teach it (pedagogy) • What resources to use (instr materials) • Managing students/res (class mgt) • Monitor student progress (assessment) • New learning standards, performance goals to meet, innovation expectations • Time constraints

  4. Goals • Shift from conventional instruction to student-centered, inquiry based model (see Table 2.2, p. 38) • Technology must be embedded to have greatest effect (see Table 2.3, p. 39-40) • Significant paradigm shift!

Change Agent Strategy • Specify types of learning experiences • Provide models of tech uses desired • Immerse teachers in professional learning experiences as expected • Provide a process for design • Communicate research-based rationale • Link to curriculum & instr initiatives • Understand & support concept change • Ongoing / cyclical planning • Be patient & realistic
