  2. Some MCAS test taking tips

  3. 1. Go to bed early the night before!

  4. 2. Eat a healthy breakfast

  5. 3. Be on time and be prepared

  6. 4. Read all of the question carefully. Pay special attention to words such as most, least, best, not

  7. 5. Read every answer before picking one. • Use the “process of elimination” to rule out obviously wrong answers and improve your chances

  8. 6. When in doubt, guess • Remember to use process of elimination first!

  9. 7. Skip questions you are stuck on and come back to them later

  10. 8. Answer every question, especially the Open Responses • Answer all of the open response questions, and answer all parts of the questions! • #1 reason students don’t get a passing score is because they leave the Open Response questions blank. Try! Try! Try!

  11. 9. Use your resources- formula sheet and calculator

  12. 10. Come to MCAS tutoring on Thursdays!

  13. Now, to get acquainted with some common formulas, symbols, and units!
