  1. We heavily depend on washers and dryers to keep our clothes clean and smelling good. After the use for several years it may start creating some problems, but Clothes dryer repair is usually one of the easiest problems to diagnose. Here are tips on type of problems generally occur and the troubleshooting ways with clothes washers and dryers. You may still need to call a repair service, but if the problems are minor, you can fix yourself without the expense of a service call.

Problem : Cloths take too long to Dry Solution : Various causes may be responsible for this problem like poor venting, Intermittent burner coils, faulty thermostats etc. The cloths dryer vent line is need to be cleaned periodically. We should clean that sucker out about every two to three years. If dryer is electric, make sure you’re getting 240v ac at the wall outlet

  3. Problem : Drum turns but no heat at all Solution :The problem may occur for different reason in a Gas Dryer and in an Electric Dryer…. For Gas dryers – It may occur from a burner component failed. Check the coils, flame switch, igniter, motor centrifugal switch, thermal fuse, thermostat, hi-limit thermostat and belt switch to fix it. For Electric dryers – Check the centrifugal switch, heating element, thermal fuse, thermostat, hi-limit thermostat and broken belt switch to find out the problem area.

  4. Problem: Drum wont turn Solution: It could happen due to a broken belt, seized belt idler wheel or a foreign caprices jammed in drum. Problem: Dryer making a scraping sound Solution: It may happen due to Worn rollers, worn drum glides, drum bearing crapicus jammed in the drum or cheesy idler pulley.

  5. Problem: Dryer getting too hot. Solution: The reason may be Stuck thermostat or the airflow backing up from restricted vent. You need to fix it as soon as possible, otherwise it may cause fire hazards. Problem: Rumbling sound when the dryer starts. Solutions : It may coming from Worn out blower wheel. It is a common problem on Maytag models, also some Frigidaire.
