  1. HJMS Summer Reading 2013 All incoming 7th and 8th grade students are expected to read and log their books electronically on the SimsburyPublic Library’s website.

Required Summer Reading Students entering 7th Grade must: • Read at least500 pages • Students entering 8th Grade must: • Read at least 2 grade appropriate texts • All students must: • Log your reading into the Governor's Summer Reading Programon the Simsbury Public Library's website • Print your booklistand bring it with you on the first day of school

  3. Locating the Summer Reading Log To Access the Summer Reading Log LinkGo to one of the following pages.The Henry James Library Media Center Page. OR The Simsbury Public Library Teen Page.

  4. Sign Me Up • If you are new to the Simsbury Public Schools, you may create a username and password that you willremember. • If you are presently enrolled in the Simsbury Public Schools, you should use your regular username andschool password. Remember that we established these accounts at the end of the school year. • If you have any problems logging in to record your books, see the librarian at the Simsbury Public Library.

  5. Registering for Summer Reading Students new to Simsbury will need to complete the registration screen. You are not required to haveyour own email account. You may use your parent’s account, as this email is only to retrieve a forgottenpassword.

  6. Navigating the Page Click here to log in booktitles and write reviews. Click here to go to the Simsbury Public Library’s Teen Page. Click here to change your password.

  7. Check Out the Reviews Reviews are found at thebottom of the main Loginpage. You are encouraged write a review. Reviews are monitoredby the librarian at the Simsbury Public Library,therefore they will not show up immediately.No names will be attached to these reviews. Clicking on the link at the end of the review will bring you to the SPL catalog. You do not need to add this link, it will be done for you.

  8. Adding a Book to Your List Click on Click on Add/View Log and fill in the required information. Please fill in the quantity, even if it is one.**Remember** you are encouraged to write a review of the books that you read.

  9. How to Print Your Book List you will find a print button. Sort by Log Date/Time and At the bottom of the click print.

  10. Great Prizes @ SPL Visit the Teen page at the Simsbury Public Library to find out about prizes and activities that are happening weekly!!
