  1. Instructions for ELMS (Microsoft Alliance) for downloading Visual Studio 2010 August 2012

  2. What is ELMS? “ELMS is a web-based management system which enables you to make DreamSpark software easily available to your students and faculty. The use of ELMS for the management and distribution of software in the DreamSpark Program is provided to you by Microsoft and e-academy (Microsoft partner) as an DreamSpark member benefit, free of charge.” (https://e5.onthehub.com/Admin/Default.aspx)

  3. Start • Open a browser (since it’s a Microsoft site it probably will work best with Internet Explorer) and navigate to the following address: • http://msdn.e-academy.com/lasalle_mcs/

  4. Click on Sign In

  5. If you know your credentials, enter them. Usernames are typically your La Salle email address.

  6. If you don’t know your credentials click on the “Forgot your password?” link

  7. Enter your username (usually your La Salle email) and click Submit. Follow the instructions in the resulting email.

  8. For Visual Studio, click on Developer Tools

  9. If you want to use what we have in the classroom, then chose Microsoft Visual Studio 2010

  10. Again, if you want to use what we have in the classroom, then choose Professional

  11. Click the Add to Cart button

  12. Click Check Out

  13. Accept the license agreement

  14. Click Proceed With Order

  15. Click Start Download

  16. Follow Step 1 (Download Secure Download Manager)

  17. Click Save

  18. Click Open Folder

  19. Follow Step 2: (Run SDM)

  20. Proceed through dialogs

  21. Proceed through dialogs

  22. Follow Step 3. (Download .SDX)

  23. Click Save

  24. Click Open folder

  25. Follow Step 4.

  26. Click Start Download

  27. Watch downloading progress bar

  28. Click Launch. Notice where it’s downloading to.

  29. Click Launch and then burn (assuming you have a DVD ready to burn in the drive).

  30. Finalizing the disk
