Only parenting in a sensible way can do it. Most of the caregivers in daycare frequently face this question from father or mother – what is good parenting? They think that it is a stable and warm relation between parents and their children. Kindergarten teachers added that parents should take utmost care to nurture a warm and healthy home environment, and must take an active part in a child’s life especially in this pandemic situation when children are at home. Preschool teachers think that good parenting is a type of responsibility that every parent should accept for the total development of their children morally and spiritually. In a seminar at a daycare Rancho Palos Verdes, CA parents were advised by the experienced caregivers to foster qualities like empathy, honesty, self-reliance, self-control, kindness, cooperation, and cheerfulness. Instill good values, set limits, and influence a child’s behavior in a positive manner says most of the child activists. Parents should promote curiosity, motivation, and desire for achievement. Good parenting is a responsibility that parents must exercise in a well- thought manner so that it helps protect children from developing various problems like anxiety, depression, eating disorders, antisocial behavior, alcohol, and drug abuse. Preschool teachers express their anxiety while giving the statistics of alcohol and drug addict students and according to them these are all because of bad parenting.

  2. Parenting is not easy and absolute good parenting is hard to practice. No parent or no child is hundred percent perfect. Parents have to accept this truth. Daycare caregivers suggest parents follow some golden rules to achieve a healthy relationship between children and parents. Here are a few traits of good parenting. Set quality time with the children. In this pandemic, situation parents are juggling with time while doing work from home and household works at the same time. No matter how busy you may be you have to take out a few times for your children from your busy schedule. Play games, have fun, plan and do things together and create a warm and joyful atmosphere at home. There is no such thing as loving your child too much. Loving them cannot spoil them. The old proverb – “spare the rod and spoil the child” does not work. Time has changed and child psychologists say that yelling, hitting, scolding, etc. have a negative impact on the development of the child. Instead of it give your children unconditional love. Hug them, kiss them to express your love for them. The more children feel loved by you, the more they will listen to you. Be a role model to your children. Remember that kids are always watching you. So, do not take part in juicy gossip with your neighbor and never act in a way that you should not. Children have a habit of imitating their parents. So, be careful. Always keep the promise made to your children. If you break your promise again and again. Kids will not take you seriously.
