  2. Sorting Linens and Uniforms • Follow safety precautions when sorting laundry. • Look for and remove items for soiled laundry as you sort it. • Sort linens according to use and fabric type. • Sort uniforms according to department. • Place sorted laundry in the correct laundry carts.

  3. Two methods for pretreating soiled items • Obtain a spray bottled filled with an approved spotting solution. • Spray the stains, spots, and soil. (The spray should break up the stain or soil so that the chemicals will remove it in the washer.) OR • Place heavily soiled, stained, and spotted linens in a soak tank filled with an approved soaking solution. • Leave it in for a set amount of time.
