  1. Deadly Suicide Attack at the Netanya Mall - 5 December, 2005 -

  2. Chain of Events Monday December 5th, approximately 11:30, a suicide attack was carried out at the entrance to the “Hasharon” shopping mall in Netanya. The lethal blast killed five Israeli civilians and wounded 48 others, 4 severely. The terrorist aroused suspicions while trying to enter the Hasharon Mall. A security guard at the scene prevented the terrorist from entering the mall; at which point the bomber detonated himself killing the guard and 3 others instantaneously. The life of a fifth victim was taken soon after he reached the hospital.

  3. Two suspicious vehicles were seen leaving the scene. The suicide attack was carried out by P.I.J (“Palestinian Islamic Jihad”) terrorist Lutfi Amin Abu Salem from the area of Tul-Karem in the West Bank. Chain of Events Cont. Chain of Events

  5. In light of the latest terror attack, the expectations of the Israeli Government from the P.A. are to take stronger confrontational measures against the terrorist organizations. Not doing so provides these organizations “grace time” to further fortify their infrastructure and operational capabilities to carry out additional terror attacks, hence – undermining the stabilization processes within the P.A. as well as vis-à-vis Israel. It is also expected that the International community strongly urges Syria - including willingness to harden policies against Damascus - in order for it to clearly cut all bases of support it gives to the Palestinian terrorist organizations (e.g. PIJ) to operate from Syrian territory against Israeli civil targets.
