LANGUAGE

My family speaks English. It is the only language that we know. English was

  • first spoken in England and is now the most widely used language in the world.

  • Over 400 million people use the English vocabulary as a first language and 700

  • million people speak English as a foreign language. I would like to learn how to

  • speak Spanish one day.

RELIGION

My family members are Christians. Christianity is a religion that believes there

is only one God. Christianity is based on the life and teachings of Jesus.

This is a picture of me on the day I was baptized. I was baptized on Sunday, August 5, 2012. We also have church on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:00.

These are some of the foods I like to eat. These are traditional American foods.

Sometimes I like to go out to eat steak and burgers. When we are at the lake

we grill steak, burgers, and hot dogs. Sometimes my mom fries eggs for

breakfast.


Clothing

CLOTHING

I mostly wear Under Armour and Nike clothing. I also like to wear Hollister shirts and shorts.

My family mostly listens to K Love which is Christian music. We also listen to Power 95.9 which is Hip Hop. My familyloves to listen to Elvis and Air Supply. My family actually got to see Air Supply in Biloxi, Mississippi. One of the members walked around the audience and gave me a guitar pick.

ETHNIC OR RACIAL BACKGROUND

A person’s ethnic or racial background refers to their race. It is who you were descended from. White, Black, Hispanic …. Etc…. My family and I are considered white or sometimes referred to as Caucasian.

LITERATURE

I like to read the Hunger Games books. I also like to read the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. One other series I like to read is Harry Potter. I don’t read often but when I do these are the books I like to read.


Family

FAMILY

My family is part Dutch, English, and Irish. I have a mom, dad, sister, and brother. I also have a dog, Molly, and a cat, Shadow. We go on a family vacation every year. The pictures above are from our cruise to Mexico and our ski trip to New Mexico. This is a picture of my sister and my bro in law.


Holidays

HOLIDAYS

We always celebrate Christmas. Christmas eve we go to my Granny Bobby’s house. On Christmas day we go to my Memaw’s house. We always go to church since it is the reason for the season.

We always celebrate Thanksgiving by getting together with all my family and eating turkey and dressing. My mom always makes lemon ice box pie. I have many things to be thankful for!


Government economical system

Government/Economical System

We live in a Democratic form of government. According to our textbook, a democracy is a form of limited government. The people govern themselves by voting on issues. We have a presidential election November 6, 2012 between Mitt Romney and BarackObama.
