  2. NTA PLAN OF PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION ACTIVITIES To involve ZTI (Zavod za tehnično izobraževanje / Institute of Technical Education), non-profit organization, a public institution with a long lasting tradition in the field of education and qualification of the adults

  3. NTA TOOK IMPLEMENTATION STEPS • 1st meeting with ZTI presentation of APHRO modules, presentation of TIMEWELL, ZTI’s needs, possible ways of cooperation • 2nd meeting with ZTI and TERME KRKA  decision to develop a new nationally credited professions in Slovenia

  4. NTA TOOK IMPLEMENTATION STEPS • At the occasion of the 3rd project partners’ meeting in Ljubljana NTA & ZTI organized on 14 October 2008 workshop based on the module “Movement &Relaxation” led by prof. Christian Klepper

NTA TOOK IMPLEMENTATION STEPS • NTA,Zavod za tehnično izobraževanje (ZTI), Krka Thermal Center made a proposal to CPI (National Institute for Vocational Education and Training)for development of 3 new vocational standards in Slovenia, intended for tertiary level higher vocational programmes: • wellness cosmetician • wellness manager • wellness consultant

  6. NTA TOOK IMPLEMENTATION STEPS • Additionally APHRO modules and EU Wellness Cosmetician programme were handed to CPI as examples from abroad. CPI formed 6 task groups, based on areas covered by APHRO: • movement • physical relaxation • psychical relaxation • nutrition • cosmetics • health

RESULTS: Wellness Cosmetician • Based on the standard and following APHRO modules structure and contents, occupational programme Wellness Cosmetician (translated in Slovenian as “kozmetik za zdravo življenje” – literally meaning Cosmetician for Healthy Lifestyle) has been developed. • The 2-year upper-secondary education occupational programme Wellness Cosmetician has passed validation at the following bodies:  Panel Board  Accreditation Committee at Association of Upper-Secondary Vocational Schools  Board of Republic of Slovenia for Occupational and Vocational Education at Ministry of Education and Sport • First students will enroll in Autumn 2010

RESULTS:Wellness Manager & Consultant • Standards for both higher educational programmes are further developing in cooperation of NTA and ZTIand some other interested educational and training centers; final validation might be achieved by early Spring 2010 • Additionally, two NVQs will be proposed based on the project modules: • aromatherapy • lymphatic drainage

  9. Other possible profilesand modules • wellness receptionist • wellness therapist • wellness cook • nordic-walking modules • nutrition modules • Alternative treatments will be implemented after adopting relevant law on alternative medicine

ACHIEVEMENTS • Broad interest was arousen on educational and vocational wellness modules by • Dissemination • Congresses’ presentations • Professional discussions • Social partners like Crafts Chamber and Tourism Chamber are involved in implementation and development of educational standards and NVQ • Public institutions like National Institute for Vocational Education and Training (CPI), and Board of Republic of Slovenia for Occupational and Vocational Education at Ministry of Education and Sport were taking decisive part in the implementation processes

ACHIEVEMENTS • At least four Slovenian vocational schools in four cities will teach the Wellness Cosmetician programme: • Glotta Nova, Ljubljana • Vocational College for Catering and Tourism, Maribor • School Center Novo mesto, Novo mesto • School Center Celje, Celje • Association of Upper-Secondary Vocational Schools with Accreditation Committee was involved in project activities and decision processes

  12. ACHIEVEMENTS • APHRO modules package was distributed to several interested institutions for further use • Pupils and students as well as those who alrewady work and know they have to refresh their knowledge and skills expressed big interest for the programmes and modules (the basis are regular surveys of ZTI and some other educational and training institutions)

CONCLUSIONS • NTA is glad to participate in the TIMEWELL project • Wellness is developing very fast and adoptions of modules is needed as well as new modules should be developed • Project results should be checked and verified from time to time • Even more intensive international cooperation is neccessary in this field
