  2. Introduction • Canvas Print is a result of an image printed onto the canvas which is stretched, or gallery wrapped on to a frame and displayed. • They are often used in interior design, or customized with personal photographs. • Since 1990s canvas print has been associated with either dye sublimation or inkjet print processes. • The canvas print material is usually cotton or plastic based poly canvas. www.paintboxsoho.com

  3. Types of Photo Canvas Print There are two types of photo canvas print readily available to you. • Custom / Personalised : These are prints made from your own photographs. • Stock Images :These are pre-made prints of stock photographs. You may have options based on your display of photographs : • Single Panel : Simplest method of displaying your print.Simply select the photograph you wish to display and and it will be printed on the canvas. • Multi Panel : This method involves splitting the photographs into sections. Each section is then printed on to canvas. www.paintboxsoho.com www.paintboxsoho.com

  4. Types of Material There are two types of material used for photo canvas prints : • Cotton Print : Made of cotton fibres. They are thought to produce highest quality prints due to the ink penetrating deep into the cloth. • They provide more exact color representation than polyester. www.paintboxsoho.com

  5. Polyester Print : These are made using cheaper, synthetic strands of material. Ink tends to rest on top of polyester canvas rather than permeating the fabric. • Polyester prints have a shorter life span. www.paintboxsoho.com

  6. Pros and Cons of Cotton PROS : • They are more durable than polyester. • It gives pictures museum – quality look. • The prints on cotton canvas hold their value over time. • The higher the percentage of cotton in these canvases, the higher the quality you can expect. 7. Pros and Cons of Polyester PROS : • They are cheaper. • The colors are more vibrant compared to cotton. CONS : • They do not last long. • The ink sits on the top of the canvas rather than penetrating. • This can lead in cracking in future. • Some poly-type canvases can run pretty thin. www.paintboxsoho.com

  8. Framing your Art There are certain framing options to bear in mind : • Gallery Wrapping : Common method of framing a canvas print. The canvas is stretched over a simple wooden frame and then stapled or glued down at the back. • Varnish : It offers your print increased UV resistance, as well as protecting your canvas from damp and mould. Even cleaning your print becomes easy. • Other Frames : You can frame your canvas print in a different styled frame like wooden mount. www.paintboxsoho.com
