  4. We must engage our classes in evangelistic prayer. Evangelistic prayer is absolutely vital to reaching the lost. Evangelistic prayer must become an “expectant” part of your Youth Sunday School class. Evangelistic prayer helps people realize the difference between human possibilities and divine capabilities.

  5. Seven things students need that God provides: • Security(John 10:28) • A sense of belonging(John 17:9-10) • Knowledge of the truth(John 14:6) • A sense of accomplishment(Daniel 12:3) • Freedom from fear (Philippians 4:6-7) • Freedom from guilt(1 John 1:9) • Love(John 3:16; Romans 8:38-39)

  6. Life change happens best in a small group environment. Sunday School is a small group ministry that involves students in Bible Study, Prayer, Ministry, Friendship, Fellowship, and Outreach.

  7. The benefits of small groups: Bible Study Prayer Friendship Fellowship Outreach Ministry People talk more in small groups. Shared concerns become more real in a small group. Small group members hold each other accountable. Small groups fellowship more because they know each other better. Small groups are more aware of needs and better equipped to meet them. People are more likely to practice what they learn in a small group.

  8. Life change happens best in a small group environment. Sunday School is a small group ministry that involves students in Bible Study, Prayer, Ministry, Friendship, Fellowship, and Outreach. One key to evangelistic growth is sound enrollment practices.

  9. In one year… 1 of 400 lost people attending a special event will follow Christ in baptism. 1 of 80 lost people attending worship will follow Christ in baptism. 1 of every 3 lost people enrolled in SUNDAY SCHOOL will make a profession of faith in Christ within one year and be baptized!

  10. ENROLLMENT Make sure your class rolls are accurate and up-to-date. (Avoid purging, but make sure you have correct info on the correct people) Plan a strategy for contacting everyone on your rolls. Set an enrollment goal for each class. (Ex: 3 new students enrolled in each class this year.)

  11. FACT: For every new class a Sunday School starts, attendance increases by 10 people. The saturation point for a Youth SS Class is 20 enrolled or 12 attending.

  12. New units enlarge the organization so that it can reach and minister to more people. New units are easier for newcomers to penetrate. New units tend to be more evangelistic. New units grow more quickly than older established units.

  13. The leader is the lesson. A Youth Sunday School Leader is a person who is personally pursuing Jesus as Lord of his life. A Youth Sunday School Leader is a person who is deeply committed to sharing Christ with others. A Youth Sunday School Leader is a person who is intentionally committed to partnering with other people to share Christ around the world.

  14. Which one of the three areas of discipline does the verse describe?

  15. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30

  16. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30

  17. What are some things that you do to pursue Christ as Lord that might benefit other leaders in the conference?

  18. I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. Romans 1:16

  19. Research indicates that only 5% of Christians will ever lead another person to faith in Christ in their lifetime. • What do you think is a major barrier for Christians to share their faith?

  20. Sunday School works as a method of presentation because it is based on: relationships, ministry, prayer, and an ongoing examination and discussion of the Bible and its message.

  21. Do not fail to share the heart of the Gospel on a regular basis in your Youth Sunday School class. • Teach a gospel presentation such as FAITH, One Verse Evangelism, or How to Share Your Personal Testimony to your class. • Engage your class in an evangelistic event or activity.

  22. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8

  23. I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. Phil. 1:3-5

  24. Your Youth Sunday School class can be a center for world missions!

  25. Some examples: • Invite lost students to join your class. (Jerusalem) • Lead your class/church to assist or minister to another church. (Judea) • Class mission projects. (Samaria) • Participation in the Cooperative Program. (The Ends of the Earth)

  26. Share at least one idea you have discovered under any of the P3 areas that you will implement in your class.
