Names of Aircraft • The suffixes to the names of RAF Aircraft indicate their primary role and mark of that particular aircraft. • The primary role indicates what the aircraft is primarily used for. • The mark is the particular version of that aircraft. The differences between marks of an aircraft could be anything from a different engine to a redesigned fuselage.
