  1. Hey guys I have made this slideshow to change old plastic 2litre bottles into fast turbo-boosting rockets!

  2. 5 1 Hand Pump(that the schools use to inflate sports balls) • 1 Plastic Soft-Drink Bottle • An 18-centermetere-long,5 millimetre wide plastic hose and a rubber cork with a hole through it. • An old desk for screwing the box tightly on to it • Abox for the launching platform!

  3. 1.You drill a hole through the box so you can fit the plastic bottle through it. 2.Put some water into the bottle. Then push one end of the hose into the cork and jam the cork into the bottle. Then turn the bottle upside down into the launching pad so that it’s bottom was pointing straight up. Then fit the other end of the hose onto the pump!

  4. You may need about two or three people to help pump the air in because it is quite tiring pumping in the air! It would have been easier with a foot pump, the rocket would work best if the bottle was filled quarter of the way! Too much water, and it was so hard to pump the air in. Too little, and you only got a short, low flight!

  5. If you didn’t pump fast enough, the water would come down the plastic tube and there’d be no air pressure left in the bottle! • Sometimes the rocket would blow the plastic tube out and just stay on the launch pad! • You never knew just when the rocket was going to launch except that it got really hard to pump just before take-off!

  6. Everyone except the person who was pumping had to stand well back. • The person working the pump had to keep their head well out of the way of the bottle! • It is hard to judge how high the rocket’s went. Sometimes, when they were at their highest point, they disappear from view!

  7. Note:Coloured bottle’s are easier to see in the sky! • They can land in tree’s. • The P.E Shed roof. • The ground. • Next door. • And on roof’s!

  8. The pump forces air into the bottle. • Soon, there’s so much air inside that it pushes out the cork. • The water inside the bottle shoots out so fast that it pushes the bottle in the opposite direction (up into the sky).

  9. Always ask an adult to supervise your rocket launches. • If you are the person pumping the air, keep your head well back from the rocket. • Others who are watching should stand at least two metres from the launch pad.
