PAGING SYSTEMS

Communication is an innate need for most people. However, sometimes obstacles arise thus rendering communication difficult or altogether impossible to achieve. This is where paging systems come into play, with the sole purpose of easing communication in a bid to get things done. Paging systems are public addresses or loudspeakers which essentially address the obstacle of conveying informationto a large group of people in a short period of time. In large buildings or institutions, the paging systems used are either wired or wireless systems.

  1. PAGING SYSTEMS

  2. Communication is an innate need for most people. However, sometimes obstacles arise thus rendering communication difficult or altogether impossible to achieve. This is where paging systems come into play, with the sole purpose of easing communication in a bid to get things done. Paging systems are public addresses or loudspeakers which essentially address the obstacle of conveying information to a large group of people in a short period of time. In large buildings or institutions, the paging systems used are either wired or wireless systems.

  3. Wired paging systems Wired paging systems are used to convey visual, acoustic or voice signals. In enterprises like factories where too much noise is generated, systems that transmit visual signals are of great importance in passing instructions to the workers. This is the cheapest and the most basic form of paging system. Here, the signal is displayed on a display screen or by simply signaling lamps of a specific color. Most institutions employ paging systems that use acoustic signals since it offers the opportunity to pass instructions or summon individuals via ringing bells. Similarly, enterprises that employ the use of voice systems in their premises achieve effective communication in that messages may be transmitted on a public-address system with loudspeakers located in work areas thus consequentially reaching a larger audience. It is worth noting that voice systems are ideally used for communicating in institutions (schools and campuses) and construction sites.

  4. Wireless paging systems The operations of wirelesspaging systems are similar to those of a radio communication system. This type of pager is more expensive than the wired pagers. It provides the ease of contacting a select group of people or employees without causing unnecessary disruptions and disturbances to others. Wirelesspaging systems may be either of Very High Frequency (VHF) or the inductive type. VHF systems typically allow users to tune into specific frequencies within the VHF range.Inductive systems, on the other hand, convey signals with a low-frequency power amplifier that are connected to a closed wire loop laid out around the perimeters of a building. For selective calling, individual receivers get tuned to specific frequencies. In excellent schools, paging systems are used for effective communication when it comes to addressing students in their thousands. Evidently, some schools have scored massive success and ended up saving much precious time by installing such systems in several parts of the school including; administration blocks, classrooms, lecture halls, departmental offices, and even playgrounds. Institution-based intercoms are effective communication devices that can be deployed anywhere within the institution and also get activated by networks powered by Ethernet or WI-FI. Better still, to increase the quality of communication the aforementioned systems can be connected to display boards that accompany instructions with messages.

  5. The scientifically advanced wireless paging systems are most suitable for places like schools, industrialplants, golf courses, football fields, concertstadiums and even in transportation since they do not need miles of cable wiresand can power themselves with the solar energythanks to the solar unit cells embedded or integratedinto them.
