  13. Feature 8 – Revolved Cut • Because the top of the rib is flat (created by extrusion), it matches the contour of the fillet only at the mid-plane of the rib • The mismatch between the two features needs to be removed INTRODUCTION TO SOLID MODELING USING SOLIDWORKS 2009

  21. Equation 1 • Number of holes = number of ribs • Number of holes is the independent parameter • Number of ribs is the dependent parameter INTRODUCTION TO SOLID MODELING USING SOLIDWORKS 2009

  22. Equation 1 (cont.) • Changing number of ribs causes number of holes to change • Second equation is needed to place holes between ribs INTRODUCTION TO SOLID MODELING USING SOLIDWORKS 2009

  23. Equation 2 • Degrees between ribs = 360/(# Ribs) • Angular position of first hole is one-half of angle between ribs = ½*(360/(# Ribs)) = 180/(# Ribs) INTRODUCTION TO SOLID MODELING USING SOLIDWORKS 2009
