The Golden Lampstand and Two Olive Tress 1Then the angel who talked with me returned and woke me up, like someone awakened from sleep. 2He asked me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a solid gold lampstand with a bowl at the top and seven lamps on it, with seven channels to the lamps. 3Also there are two olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.” 4I asked the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?” Zec 4:1-14(NIV)

The Golden Lampstand and Two Olive Tress 5He answered, “Do you not know what these are?” “No, my lord,” I replied. 6So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. 7“What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’ ” 8Then the word of the Lord came to me: Zec 4:1-14(NIV)

  4. The Golden Lampstand and Two Olive Tress 9“The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. 10“Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?” 11Then I asked the angel, “What are these two olive trees on the right and the left of the lampstand?” Zec 4:1-14(NIV)

The Golden Lampstand and Two Olive Tress 12Again I asked him, “What are these two olive branches beside the two gold pipes that pour out golden oil?” 13He replied, “Do you not know what these are?” “No, my lord,” I said. 14So he said, “These are the two who are anointed to serve the Lord of all the earth.” Zec 4:1-14(NIV)

  8. God’s Power Is Vital for Success (v. 6) • (v.6)…… : ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.

  9. Philippians 1:19 (NIV) 19 for I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. Colossians 1:29 (NLT) 29 That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.

  10. 2. God’s Power Overcomes Obstacles, When We Cooperate with Him (v.7-9) • (v.7) …..: ‘What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground.’ • (v.9)…..: “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it.’

Deuteronomy 6:1–3 (NIV) 1 These are the commands, decrees and laws the Lord your God directed me to teach you to observe …… 2 so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the Lord your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. 3 Hear, Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised you.

These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

  13. 3. Empowered by Christ into Our Priestly Office and Function (v.8 - 10) • (v.9) ….: ‘I will remove the sin of this land in a single day. • Revelation 1:5–6 (NIV) • 5 …. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

Nothing will be impossible for you.” Ephesians 3:20 (NIV) 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

  15. 3. God’s Power Will Turn Humble Beginnings to Become Great (v.10) • (v.10)… “Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the LORD that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?”

  16. Haggai 2:9 (NIV) 9 ‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the LORD Almighty.”

  17. Conclusion God’s Blueprint or DNA for the Church – To Be A Church Empowered By His Spirit Let us trust in God’s power to achieve great things for God. Let’s remove every obstacles and negative mind set that hinders us from building His Church!
