  1. The Traveling Exotic Animal Protection Act H.R. 3359 A solution to the cruel treatment exhibited in traveling circuses and exhibitions. By Amanda Ghobadi

  2. The Problem • Traveling circuses cannot provide the proper living conditions for exotic animals. • Animals are beaten, prodded, shocked, chained, and dragged when being forced to perform. • They are confined in uncomfortable living conditions, surviving in extreme weather and filthy cages. • They are sometimes even deprived of basic necessities such as food and water. • Animals are put under extreme amounts of pressure to perform, and sometimes can lose control and lash out at any or all who may be around them.

  3. What is H.R. 3359? • A bill that will restrict the use of exotic and non-domesticated animals in traveling circuses and exhibitions. • It is not intended to affect zoos, aquariums, horse racing, rodeos, or permanent facilities where animals travel out for film, television or advertising work. • This is the first bill to comprehensively tackle the use of all wild animals in circuses ever to be launched in the U.S. • The Bill will end the keeping of animals for extended periods in temporary facilities, the cruel training and control methods employed by circuses and address public safety issues. James P. Moran Bob Barker Jorja Fox

  4. How Do We Get H.R. 3359 to Pass? • Join “Break The Chain,” the campaign to bring an end to circus animal suffering in the USA, led by Animal Defenders International (ADI). • Write our Congressmen. Send a letter to Senator Jim Webb or Senator Mark Warner. James P. Moran is the main supporter and sponsor of this bill. • Don’t go to the animal circuses! If one comes to town, tell people about the bill and the mistreatment of the animals.
