Near Decatur, De Kalb County, Ga. What is your family like? They cared about education. They wanted me attending private schools. Where were you educated? Madison Female College How far did you go in your education? She graduated from college. What do you do for a living? Newspaper writer; lecturer Philosophies: Methodist, Politician, Columnist, Democratic “If it takes lynching to protect women’s dearest possession from the drunken ravening beasts, then I say lynch a thousand a week.” Arts & Entertainment: writing Activities & Interests: writing • WALL • October 7th~ Felton receives the appointment certificate in a public ceremony. • Governor Hardwick~ I had originally opposed women’s suffrage, but I now believe it’s right to extend the right to vote to women. STATUSI’ve served from October 31, 1922 to November 22, 1922. Today I have been sworn in to be a senator. I am the first woman to be able to say this. I am also the oldest. I am determined. I am outspoken, and I will speak for my beliefs. I have taken the oath in office. • NEWS FEED • October 3, 1922~ Gov.
