Characteristics Characteristics Similarities • HOMEWORK! • No choice at all! • Requires concentration • Negatively Affected by • Distractions such as: • a) Computer/ FaceBook/ • My Space/ Games/Internet • b) sports, lessons after • school,religious instruction, • activites & organizations • c) family and friends • d) TV & phone • e) fatigue caused from long • school schedule – Your • brain really needs • 8 hours of sleep to recharge • so you can learn more • the next day! • Requires concentration • and quiet! • fun! • For your own • enjoyment • 3) Helps you learn • 4) Relates to things • you like • 5) Builds background • knowledge • 6) You choose the • subject! • 7) You choose when to • read. • 8) You choose when not • to read! 2) Helps you learn 3) Builds background knowledge 4) Can be negatively afffected by same things! 5) Reading and learning are cool!
