Alcohol and Drugs • More than 70,000 students ages 18-24 are victims of a sexual assault or date rape in which alcohol is involved. • Last year, 2.1 million students between the ages 18-24 drank while driving. • Binge Drinking: 5 drinks for males and 4 drinks for females. • Don’t EVER leave anyone drunk “sleep it off”. • So what do you do?

Hazing • What is it? • Hazing is any action or situation, with or without the consent of the participants, which recklessly, intentionally, or unintentionally endangers the mental, physical, or academic heath or safety of a student. • Don’t divide your membership into categories. • You are still responsible if you don’t haze someone, but know about the actions of others. • This results in fines ($2000) and criminal charges. • If you know any information go to Office of Student Life (UC-2nd Floor)

  5. Sexual Harassment & Assault • Stalking—repeating unwanted contact; this occurs more than once. • Harassment—alarm, torment, embarrass, annoy, assault, pranks, etc. • Why & How does stalking occur? • Occurs by a known person • Bullying • Current or former partner • Domination, manipulation, humiliation, etc. • Can occur in person or electronically • Report: (210) 458-4911

  6. Firearms and Weapons • Have a plan in case of an emergency! • Bomb threats (Ask questions such as): • When is the bomb going off? • Where is it at right now? • What does it look like? • Did you place it? • Why? • Notify Police ASAP!

  7. General Safety • Wash Hands • Visit the Student Health Services • Be cautious of your health and others • When having potlucks: • Label food • Ask about allergies

  8. Behavior • Establish and maintain a good reputation! • Who do you represent? • Myself • My Family • My Organization • My School
