Enhanced Lifeline for Tribal Lands • Eligible tribal members may receive localhome phone service for as little as $1 a month. • Provides bigger discountson monthly local home phone service compared to California LifeLine • Tribal members must live on a federally-recognized Indian tribe’s reservations. • Carriers may each call, Enhanced Lifeline for Tribal Lands, differently.

Enhanced Lifeline for Tribal Lands • Residents of tribal lands must meet the federal government’s eligibility guidelines to get the bigger discount for the monthly local home phone service. • Residents of tribal lands must meet CA’s eligibility guidelines to get CA’s better discount on service connection and conversion charges. • The federal government and CA have different eligibility guidelines.

Enhanced Lifeline for Tribal Lands Based on the federal government’s eligibility guidelines, one must either have an income that is at or below 135 percent of the federal Poverty Guidelines, or participate in one of the following assistance programs: • Medicaid • Food Stamps or SNAP • SSI • Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8) • LIHEAP • TANF • NSL’s Free Lunch Program • Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance • Tribally-Administered TANF (TTANF) • Head Start • Tribal National School Lunch Program
