Why Indicators ?

  • To reflect the trend in Climate Change and its impacts on different sectors

  • To assist the policy process by highlighting these trends and underlying where adaptation and mitigation measures are required

  • To show politics effectiveness

  • To support the process of Integrated EnvironmentAssessment

  • To raise public awareness to the problems of global change and its impacts

Climate Change State and Impact Indicators

  • CC State Indicators:

    Give a quantitative and qualitative description of the actual changes occuring in the climate (e.g. temperature, precipitation)

  • CC Impact Indicators:

    Describe the impacts of climate change on ecological, social and economic functions
