  2. For Your Safety • Read the two sheets (green and pink) • Sign the yellow sheet • Under 18? Please see me. • Sign out the microscope you will use this quarter.

  3. Lab safety • First aid kit at the front • Fire extinguisher at the back • Eye wash at sink • Showers in the back • Anyone else “First Aid” certified?

  4. Lab Safety • No eating or drinking in lab • Clean up rule: • It is your responsibility to clean up after yourself and put everything back clean and where it belongs.

  5. Lab clean up • Put models back, as you found them • Put microscopes back • Put slides back in the proper box and correctly inserted. • (Another class comes in right after you – those students should not have to search for misplaced items!)

  6. Lab clean up • Dispose of other items as follows: • Paper towels go in the trash • Broken glass and slide cover slips go in “broken glass” container • Biological waste goes in red bucket: • Empty slides get rinsed, dried, and returned to box • Dissection tools: clean or put in wash • Wipe down your bench area when done

  7. MICROSCOPE SIGN UP • Sign in on the sheet next to you microscope number – • Use this same microscope for the quarter
