Benefits to an employer • Commitment to training is good for business reputation and profile • Working with young people may help to identify training for other members of staff • Involvement with training will help keep employers up to date with industry requirements • Involvement with training may assist with staff recruitment and improve staff retention

  10. Reasons for Non-Engagement • No Value to the company • Competing requests from different organisations • Tasked with reviewing Health & safety policy • Allow regular access • Elements of Bureaucracy • Cost outweigh the benefits ie staff time, capacity

  11. Employer Engagement Management • Understand why engage with employers • Understanding of local activity • Understanding of employers • Clear understanding of types of activity • Central co-ordinated activity across institutions,internally and externally
