  1. Mhotep and Isis the Flying Camel

  2. Once upon a time in a far away land called Egypt, there was a poor man named Mhotep.

  3. Mhotep had a pet monkey named Alu.

  4. One day, Alu went to steal some food from the market. He steals because he had no debens, money for food.

  5. When Alu was pocketing a few figs, a man spotted him. The man yelled, “Stop that monkey!” Alu began to scurry away.

  6. At that moment, Mhotep came speeding around the corner. Both Mhotep and Alu saw the man running at them.

  7. Together, they turned and dashed into a store of a silk merchant.

  8. When Mhotep turned he spotted the beautiful princess named Amisi

  9. Amisi was very lovely. She had long black silken hair and twinkling blue eyes. Her father was a very wealthy pharaoh. She wore lots of gold jewelry and almost everyone in the kingdom knew her name.

  10. But, her father doesn’t like her talking to the poor men and women.

  11. Anyway, Mhotep wanted to stop and say hello, but he knew there was no time. So on they ran, back to their little corner for a house on top of the hill overlooking the kingdom.

  12. Just then, Princess Amisi came from around the corner. “I am Pr…” “Princess Amisi, I know”, Mhotep interrupted. “I saw you and your monkey running from that man,” complained Amisi. “ He is very strict and mean.” “Tell me about it,” responded Mhotep. “So, do you and your monkey want to come check out the palace?” asked Amisi. “Would we ever!” exclaimed Mhotep. “Alright, let’s go!” said Amisi.

  13. When they arrived at the palace Mhotep, Alu, and Amisi met Amisi’s father, the pharaoh.

  14. After they met the pharaoh, they went to the herdsman's tent.

  15. While they were there, Mhotep saw a camel with gold sparkles circling it.

  16. “What is that?” asked Mhotep.

  17. “It is a flying camel named Isis,” says Princess Amisi

  18. “Can I have it?” asked Mhotep

  19. “Sure", says Amisi and Amisi and Mhotep got married and lived happily ever after with their pet flying camel and monkey.
