Time Schedule Start date: Thursday, May 29th End date: Thursday, June 5th Scheduling High School: Students have the course catalog- February 28, 2014 Students course selection due to guidance – March 7, 2014 Student/Guidance in computer lab inputting classes – March 21, 2014 Master schedule built by guidance/admin. – April 4, 2014 Run the master schedule and work on any discrepancies- April 11, 2014 Students have schedule in hand – May 2, 2014 (2 weeks for glitches) 8th(9th) grade students will take over 12th grade lockers

  3. Scheduling cont. Middle School: Students will be placed in Math/Reading by ability through teacher evaluation (March 28, 2014) Students will be heterogeneously placed in the other core classes (April 18, 2014) 5th grade students will be recommended by elem. Teachers for their placement in Math/Reading (March 28, 2014) each building will have a one day visit to the Middle school (May 12- 16) will have the 8th grade lockers (be able to practice during the week) Elementary School: Registration/scheduling Kindergarten registration: Each elementary had a registration /information night Parents were surveyed about participating in NYN Class size/depth: Will be addressed by Dr. Trail and head teachers on how deep each building will need

Attendance: • Middle/High School: • Seniors will be practicing for graduation and be out of classes • All other students will be counted as normal through their H.R. • 5th (now 6th) will be taken by new H.R. teachers and emailed to elementary for record keeping • Elementary School: • Student rosters will be passed on the new classroom for attendance • New Kindergarten students will not be “officially” counted towards attendance • NYN Kindergarten classes will be on a volunteer basis for students (high percentage of participation)

Transportation Middle/High School: -Students will continue to ride their assigned bus, same as all year long -5th grade (now 6th) will continue their ride from elementary to the middle school Elementary School: -Students will continue to ride their assigned bus, same as all year long -Kindergarten student’s parents will provide their transportation to and from the elementary schools for the duration of NYN -Kindergarten students that are part of the Head Start program will have their transportation provided to them through Head Start

Activities Middle/High School: -Staff will go over their classes and syllabi (expectations, grading course overview) -Teachers will go over the summer assessment work (extra credit) -Review previous years work -Students will learn their schedules and make changes during this time period -6th grade students will have and adjustment period and be able to conquer their biggest fear (lockers) -April 18th (Good Friday) will be an Act 80 Teachers will have the day to work on their NYN plans Elementary School: -Staff will introduce themselves and their class to the students moving up a grade level -Staff will go expectations for the upcoming school year -Teachers will go over the summer assessment work (extra credit) -Learn their new classes and gain comfort in their new surroundings -April 18th (Good Friday) will be an Act 80 Teachers will have the day to work on their NYN plans
