  2. About the Contest • The purpose is to celebrate reading and to have fun • It is intended to be a family or class project • This project is completely optional. Participation is not required.

  3. Contest Rules • Pumpkins should represent a favorite book character. • On the entry form you must have the title and author of the book written on the form. • Get the book information first before even starting to decorate the pumpkin.

  4. Contest Rules Continued • Absolutely no carved pumpkins. • To decorate you can use paper, glue, paint, markers, pipe cleaners, fabric, or other craft items on the pumpkin. • Let your creativity soar!

  5. Contest Rules Continued • Do not write your name anywhere on the pumpkin • Mrs. Hunter will secretly code your pumpkin when you turn it in.

  6. Contest Rules Continued • Families with more than one students may enter the Family Project category. • Families with preschoolers may also enter this category.

  7. Contest Dates • Pumpkins may be turned in from Mon. Oct. 18 to Thurs. Oct. 21. • Judging will take place on Friday Oct. 22 • Pumpkins may be up and taken home by Oct. 29.

  8. Popcorn party and $25 Walmart Gift Card for the top teacher/staff pumpkin. • Pizza & board game to top family pumpkin. Prizes: $15 Walmart Gift Card for the winner of following: K-1st 2nd-3rd 4th-5th
