  • Describe the living conditions of poorer people in Bombay. (5)

  • Explain (give reasons) some of the problems that people living on the Bangladesh delta face. (5)

  • What development issues does India face? What would be your solution? (5)

  • Ganges flowing from Himilayas to the Bay of Bengal (1)

  • Pavement Dwellers (1), Overcrowding (1), Poor Sanitation (1), Slums (1), Sewage in the streets (1), Temporary/Shanty housing (1), Contamination (1), Poor Health (1), Babies die (1), Informal work (1), Limited job prospects (1)….

  • Flooding due to cyclones and lots of rivers flowing to the sea (extra mark if you mention distributaries) (1)

  • Salinisation due to sea water flooding the Sunderbans (1) freshwater is being removed by locals for irrigation (1) this causes drought (1)

  • Global Warming – rising sea levels could flood this area (1)
