  2. Mission The Mission The Problem Design, build and manage a robot to run in a campaign for President of The Universe. Think about the interests of the citizens. What could your robot do that would win their votes. Double-talking politicians are mucking up the works. It's our duty to rescue the world from these nit wits! “I invented the Internet.” presidential candidate

Goals • At the end of this mission, robot candidates will run on • an obstacle course that simulates a presidential • campaign trail. • Your robot may earn votes for: • A good campaign slogan. • Making noise. • Standing tall. • Raising money (or collecting candy). • A campaign speech (recorded in Scratch and triggered by moving a mouse).

  4. Modules • Modular construction is BIG! • Break your solution into simple motion, sensor and structural modules. • You may find instructions for useful modules in Build-It-Blocks.

  5. The Plan • Plan and design. • Build modules. • Build obstacles. • Integrate and test your solution. • Document results. • Present your project to the world. There’s a lot to do! If we don’t work together, our solution may fail.

  9. Examples – Campaign Trail Obstacles Raise money for your campaign. Throw candy to the voters. Raise a campaign slogan sign. Stand tall. Touch the top of an arch. Maneuver around difficult challenges without upsetting anything. Make lots of noise.
