General Overview of AP Program Advanced Placement Is: • A Rigorous Program-college level curriculum • National curriculum culminating with a national exam in May • Yearlong commitment***** • Designed for self motivated, self -starting students • About the curriculum and NOT the quality point • For qualified students, i.e. all prerequisites met • Require a significant time commitment, a good deal of outside reading and often study group participation

  3. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves and at the same time select AP courses where they have strong content ability and a passion for that subject • As students make plans to take their course load they need to consider the time commitment that each course will require and make realistic choices.

  4. AP Courses without a definite grade level include the following: AP Calculus AB AP Physics C AP Calculus BC AP Studio Art AP Statistics AP Music Theory AP Computer Science AP Spanish AP Biology AP French AP Chemistry AP Psychology AP Environmental Science*

  5. AP Courses by Typical Grade Level which fulfill graduation requirements • 9th Grade- AP Human Geography • 10th Grade- AP World History • 11th Grade- AP English Lang (American Lit) AP US History AP Physics B • 12th Grade AP Eng Lit AP Economics (one semester) AP Government (one semester)
