  2. What is APL in Holland? • Accreditation of Prior Learning: • Recognition of competences acquired in any context, formal, informal or non-formal • Accreditation of the competences • Added value by link to generally recognised standard (national qualification structure or sector qualification)

  3. Dutch system: public finance General information costs/benefits Legally obligation to ask at least cost price Public finance only for students registered october 1st Public finance only for students that is enrolled 3 years National covenant a quality code for APL

  5. Employer Costs & benefits for companies: High costs for procedures: at least cost price No unit prices. Range is often between 600 en 1600 euros Legal arrangements: tax benefits (ca. 300 euros) Collective Labour Agreements: compensation for APL

Research: yield for employers • Expected yield (non financial) by companies: • Flexibility of the workforce (roles) • Mobility to other jobs (internal & external) • Professional identity (self esteem) • Loyalty towards the organisation • Willingness to learn increases • Efficiency and effectivity in work National covenant a quality code for APL
