WHAT BROWN HAS DONE FOR LABOR As Governor: • Created 1.9 million good-paying jobs • Gave workers the right to bargain collectively for better wages & benefits • Strengthened workers’ comp & unemployment insurance As Attorney General: • Took on corporations that cheated their workers out of pay & benefits • Sued Wall Street bankers who ruined family mortgages • Fought big oil companies

  4. WHAT WHITMAN PROPOSES TO TAKE AWAY • Eliminate 40,000 jobs • Roll back rights to overtime pay, 8-hour work day, and guaranteed meal and rest breaks • Cut pensions • More tax breaks to corporations & wealthy individuals WE MUST STOP THE HOSTILE CORPORATE TAKEOVER OF CALIFORNIA

  19. 2010 VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE CONTEST RULES • Only Rank and File members may compete for the prizes • Only New Registrations will count towards the totals • Each local union will be responsible for keeping track of who turns in the registration forms at the worksites • The totals will be updated bi-weekly • Prizes will be awarded in each Joint Council

It comes down to a very simple choice: • MAIN STREET vs. WALL STREET • By working together we can restore hope, promise and prosperity – we can restore California. • We need you not only to go out and vote, but to encourage our members, your friends, and family to register and vote as well. • With increased voter registration, volunteer participation and voter turnout we can WIN.
