  3. The Daily Pages of the Almanac: VI: The Almanac The Daily Pages • Lists the GHA and Declination of Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the Moon, and the Sun. • Lists the GHA of Aries, and the SHA and Declination of 57 Stars. • Lists “v” and “d” Values to Assist in Interpolating GHA and Declination. • Lists the Local Mean Time of Sunrise, Sunset, and Twilights From 72°N to 60°S • Lists the Meridian Passage and SHA of the 4 Navigational Planets (Which Assists in Plotting Them on a Rude Star Finder.) • Lists the Time of Meridian Passage of the Sun and the Equation of Time. • Lists the Meridian Passage of the Moon and the Moon’s Phase, and the LMT of Moonrise and Moonset • Lists the Magnitude of the Planets

  4. VI: The Almanac The Daily Pages

  5. VI: The Almanac The Daily Pages

  6. VI: The Almanac The Daily Pages

  7. VI: The Almanac The Daily Pages

  8. Also Has Tables For: VI: The Almanac The Daily Pages • Altitude Corrections For Refraction, Ht Of Eye Corrections (Dip), And Temperature And Barometric Pressure Corrections. • Star Charts • Polaris Star Tables For Calculating Latitude & Azimuth By Polaris • Lists Of Major And Minor Stars With SHA, Declination, And The Star’s Bayer’s Name • Tables For Interpolating Sunrise, Sunset, And Twilight • Moon Sight Reduction Tables

  9. Altitude Correction Tables

  10. Star Charts

  11. VI: The Almanac Polaris Star Tables

  12. VI: The Almanac Increments and Corrections

  13. VI: The Almanac Altitude Correction Tables for the Moon

  14. VI: The Almanac Altitude Correction Tables for the Sun, Stars, and Planets

  15. VI: The Almanac Using The Almanac M To Find Greenwich Hour Angle (GHA) & Local Hour Angle (LHA): Of The Sun: GHA☼ Hour + m&s GHA☼ Total (+e –w) λ Longitude LHA☼ Total East Longitude g G ☼ M West Longitude G g ☼

  16. VI: The Almanac Using The Almanac M To Find Greenwich Hour Angle (GHA) & Local Hour Angle (LHA): Of The Moon or Planets: GHA Hour + m&s +or- “v” “v” corr’n GHA  Total (+e –w) λ Longitude LHA  Total East Longitude g G  M West Longitude G g 

  17. VI: The Almanac Using The Almanac M To Find Greenwich Hour Angle (GHA) & Local Hour Angle (LHA): Of The Stars: GHA Hour + m&s GHA  Total +SHA SHA GHA  Total (+e –w) λ Longitude LHA  Total East Longitude g G   M West Longitude G g  

  18. VI: The Almanac Finding Declination • The Declination of the Body Is Listed for Every Hour of GMT in the Daily Pages. For Stars It Is Listed Next to the Star’s Name and SHA • To Interpolate for Minutes of Declination a “d” Value Is Given Which Gives the Average Rate of Change in Declination Every Hour • The Correction for the “d” Value Can Be Found in the Increments and Corrections Table in the Back of the Almanac. The Correction Is Added If the Declination Is Rising and Subtracted If the Declination Is Falling • The Change in the Declination of Stars From Hour to Hour Is Insignificant So Stars Have No “d” Value

  19. VI: The Almanac Finding Declination Example:At 0730 ZT at position 015°00’ W on June 15th Find the Declination for the Following: • Venus • Sun • Hamal • The Moon 0830 GMT 15th June 1981 Venus Sun Hamal Moon Declination 08h N 24° 03.6’ (d - .2) - .1’ N 24° 03.5’ N 23° 22.3’ S15° 22.2’ (d +7.5) + 3.8’ S15° 26.0’ N23°18.6’ (d + .1) + .1’ N 23° 18.7’ The “d” Value Helps Us Interpolate for the Change in Declination for the “30 Minutes”
