History of ISO-11783 • 1980’s – The need is recognized • LBS Standard developed in Germany • ASAE Investigating CAN Standards in the USA • 1990’s – Standardization begins • ISO TC23 / SC19 Ag Electronics formed • LAV in Germany presented DIN 9684 (LBS) • Con Ag Multiplexing Task Force in US, promoted J1939 • February 1991, WG1 was formed and began to work on the new communications protocol… ISO-11783 May 18, 2005

History of ISO-11783 • 2000’s Promotion of the Standard • 2000 - German Engineering society forms “Implementation Group ISOBUS” (IGI) • “ISOBUS” adopted as an industry name for ISO-11783 • 2001 - Presentation at Agritechnica in Germany • Cooperation between member companies accelerates adoption of the standard in Europe • Early implementation allowsimprovements of the standard May 18, 2005
