  1. How To Guide – Edit Access

  2. Access to post on KrannertLife

  3. KrannertLife Access • The outgoing president of the club introduces the new president in an email to VP of Professional Development of KGSA. Then this VP of PD updates the Google spreadsheet he/she maintains. • https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkpGu-HfNbUQdHNnVExwZGpjZlJ6VElOX19HSnRnNGc#gid=0 • The only reference for VP of IT of KGSA is the above Google spreadsheet. He/she cannot give access to anyone unless it is authorized by the VP of PD and it is updated in the spreadsheet. • Fill the form on KrannertLife at https://krannertlife.purdue.edu/2014/03/access-post-krannertlife/ • To request access to the VP’s of a club, the current president sends an email to VP of PD again with the position names to get the spreadsheet updated accordingly. The same process repeats.

  4. Generic club email id

  5. Create a new generic club email id • Before requesting a new email id for your club, please check with the VP of IT of KGSA if an email id already exists for your club. • An email (direct email, no forwarded email) should be sent by the KGSA President or the Faculty/Staff advisor of the club directly to the KCCHelp@Purdue.edu email account • The following details should be mentioned in the email: • Name of the club • Specify the members to be given access and members whose access be revoked (for existing club email ids) • Duration of Access (Eg, April 2014 to March 2015)

  6. Changing Club Description

  7. Backend Frontend • Tips: • Do not embed logo in the description use Featured image instead • Keep the description short. You may include your mission statement and upcoming events. Avoid pictures. If any should be appropriately sized • Do not include contact information or officer names in the club description

  13. News/Announcement Scheduling • Tips: • A post can be scheduled to publish on a later date. Edit the “Published on” date to schedule • Set the category that corresponds to only your club/area. For example, if CIBER then only CIBER and not “Centers and Programs” (the parent category) • Set the tags that make sense. If you think a post is worthy of being featured on the homepage, add the tag “Featured” (Note only 4 most recent Featured posts get shown) • Every post should have a Featured Image. It not only enhances the appearance of the post but also helps locate the post easily in the listing or Newsletter Category Tags Featured Image

  14. Event Category • Tips: • Set Category and Event Category as same • Checking “Hide from Upcoming Events List” will hide the event from showing on the upcoming events widget on homepage as well as the list view. The event would still show up in the Calendar • Check “Hide from Upcoming Events List” for events like: classes start, spring break ends, etc. Tags Event Category Featured Image

  15. News/Announcement/Event Excerpt • Tips: • Summarize the post using Excerpt. The excerpt is used throughout the website and also while posting to external websites like Facebook and Twitter
