  1. VOCABULARY DEFINITIONS Requirements for Completion for Mrs. Inabinet

  2. “Opting Out” • I often allow students to “Opt Out” of completing requirements for vocabulary words for which they can demonstrate mastery in advance. • To demonstrate mastery, you will write a No Brou Ha Ha definition of the words you believe you could already teach Mrs. Inabinet about. • If you demonstrate mastery the FIRST TIME, Mrs. Inabinet will initial/stamp/sticker/etc. that word on your list. • You MUST keep up with the list and turn it in with your completed words. If you do not keep or turn in the original “Opt Out” list Mrs. Inabinet approved, you are responsible for those words.

  3. Product Options • You may choose to create any product to demonstrate completion of required vocabulary words. See Mrs. Inabinet’s “Exceeds” work for examples. • Frayer Diagram (minimum) • Foldable • Pop Up Book • Spinner Wheel • Flash Cards • PowerPoint Word Splash

  4. Product Requirements • Regardless of the product you choose to complete, the following are the minimum that must be included for each term: • Word (Hello, Captain Obvious) • No Brou Ha Ha definition • Mrs. Inabinet doesn’t want to know what the textbook says, Mrs. Inabinet wants to know what the term means TO YOU! No fancy language necessary…in your own words, explain the vocabulary word to me. • Illustration, Picture, or Fun Fact about the Vocabulary Term • Remember, these are REQUIRED (Meets the Standard). To EXCEED the Standard, you must go ABOVE AND BEYOND!
